PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

From birth through adolescence

It’s the area in dentistry that treats children from the first year of life until adolescence.

The Pediatric Dentistry provides children the first contact with the dentist, which will assess the state of oral health, control tooth eruption and perform preventive treatments such as:

  • Topical application of fluoride.
  • Placing sealants that make the tooth surface smooth and where no bacteria can lodge and start the process of dental caries.
  • Teaching how to perform a proper tooth brushing and using dental floss.
  • Check if the dentition is developing properly and if necessary initiate a process of correction, which may include the use of braces, dental extractions, among others.
